Request for HR Expert Advice
Mr. A is working in XYZ Public Ltd. Co. as a Senior Manager and met with an accident during duty hours. The doctor has advised him to rest for 4 weeks. After resuming duty, the HR department asked him to fill out PL (Paid Leave) for the resting period, and only then will the salary be processed. Mr. A argued, but HR stated that it is as per the company's policy since Mr. A is covered under the group insurance policy. Whatever compensation the insurance company provides will be passed on to Mr. A, but it is less than his salary.
Why does Mr. A have to use PL for the resting period? Is there any act for this? Please comment on this.

Insurance Coverage and Leave Policies
The employees who have crossed the ESI limit will be covered under the Mediclaim policy. However, in the Mediclaim policy, we can only claim for hospital treatment, and it will not cover leave wages. In the Group Personal Accident policy, we can claim for leave wages as usual, and the medical expenses will be significantly lower according to our policy and premium limit.
I believe that A was covered under the group insurance policy. Please contact the insurance company and ensure that he receives the benefits.
Some companies may offer special leave for the entire period if the accident occurred during the course of employment, particularly under unsafe conditions, not due to an unsafe act. However, this is subject to the company's policy and the value of the employee.
