Please help me to know about how much contribution is required from employees and employers for PF deduction. What do we call this in HR language, and how many employees should be working in the company for PF deduction?

Thank you.

Thanks for the support, but in PF and ESI Excel, I could not understand properly a few points which are mentioned below:

1. If Employee Basic (Basic means Basic + DA/VDA) is less than 6500, is it 12% contribution from the Employee and 12% contribution from the Employer? Am I right? But what does DA/VDA mean? Can you please explain?

2. If Employee Basic (Basic means Basic + DA/VDA) is more than 6500, then please explain clearly. Also, what are Admin Charges, EDLI Charges, and EDLI Admin Charges? Please clarify a little. I am a fresher in HR and have recently joined an Events Company.

Thank you.

If you check the Minimum Wages Act/Factories Act, it is mentioned clearly. Many organizations, especially in the IT industry, do not follow the DA component as the basic pay is above the minimum wages act. In this case, Basic means Basic + DA.

In PF, apart from EE & ER contributions, there are other charges like Admin charges, EDLI, and EDLI Admin charges. It is mandated as per statutory requirements.

If the basic salary plus DA is greater than the PF barrier, let's say 19000/month, then 12% will be deducted on the whole basic amount (i.e., on 19000 rupees). Alternatively, will the PF be deducted within the barrier? If it is on the entire basic amount (19000), is the employer bound to contribute based on the entire basic or can the employer contribute within the barrier?

Please help solve this problem.
