I would like to have some feedback on the importance of HRD. Is it more important than OD or not? I would like to do this in the form of a debate between the users here in this forum.

Waiting for your responses, guys. Thanks in advance.

Yes, by OD, I mean Organization Development and HRD (Human Resource Development). So, which is more important to develop first? If you can, please give me some simple examples as well.

Thanks in advance.

As per my knowledge, the subject of Organizational Development deals with the appropriate application of tools based on the analysis or survey of organizational diagnosis. This is done through sample questionnaires and feedback from members of the organizations. After thorough analysis, proper proven tools (interventions, OD Intervention) are applied to resolve the issues, and the effectiveness of the intervention is measured through continuous monitoring.

On the other hand, HRD as a Total Function

HRD is a total function that helps to integrate human resources, develop, evaluate performance, etc., upon which the success of the organization depends. I think both are important; however, if the effectiveness of HRD functions is achieved on a large scale, the need for OD is reduced.

You cannot separate OD & HRD. Both functions go hand in hand.and both have equal importance. Avinash Kanoray

Well, in a nutshell, the way I look at it, until there is development in HR, there cannot be progress in any organization. After all, it's the people who run the organization and take it to its great success.

Hope that sheds enough light on your doubt.

In my point of view, HRD is a little more important than OD because, as our friend wrote, if an organization's human power or resources are not developed, how can the organization itself be developed? However, I don't know how much I am right and how much wrong.

Thank you.
