Factors to Consider When Shortlisting an Insurance Company
The following factors should be considered while shortlisting an insurance company:
1. The company that provides a greater number of days for intimating a claim.
2. The company that offers more days for submitting a claim from the date of discharge from the hospital.
3. The company that is willing to condone delayed submission of a claim or forgo intimation if requested by the HR/employer.
4. The company that has a larger network of hospitals to avail cashless facilities for the claimant.

Choosing Your TPA
TPA is your choice; you can demand your choice of TPA. Your insurance broker or insurance company must agree to provide your choice of TPA.
OPD Coverage in Group Health Insurance
As per my knowledge, OPD is not covered; 24 hours of hospitalization on genuine grounds is required. However, a few companies are ready to provide coverage for OPD from next year, subject to approval from the insurance regulatory authority. As of today, I don't think any company provides OPD coverage. If you come across any, please update me.
