Hi to all,

As the name itself sounds problematic, the process and function are highly intricate because the department should be both management-friendly and employee-friendly. The most important decisions for the company are made by the HR department. 🤷‍♂️

Hi,

There can be many challenges that an HR manager has to face:

- Managing Change: As organizations are going global, this is one problem faced by many organizations of managing the change in the organization and how to make people acquainted with the changes.

- Work Culture: Due to acquisitions and mergers taking place, it becomes important for the HR Manager to develop the work culture.

- Ethics and Values: In the times when we are becoming more professional and narcissistic, it is crucial to have ethics and values in place, which also in the long run determine the sustainability of the organization.

- Managing low attrition rate: More competition also leads to high attrition. Now, here is the opportunity for the HR manager to play it safe and introduce good retention strategies.

- Balancing work and personal life: A huge responsibility is on the shoulders of an HR Manager to create a balance between work life and personal life by offering flexible work hours, paternity leaves (yes, it is what most companies are starting), and vacations as some of the options at hand.

- Stress and Conflict: Long working hours, target pressures, high competition, etc., add stress and conflicts in the organization. It is the duty of an HR Manager to have proper responses to stress and conflict before it causes damage to someone's personality.

- Consultative approach: Developing continuous dialogue, open communication, and participative decision-making are very important for implementing a consultative approach. It is an HR Manager who can facilitate such an approach to foster a participative and democratic culture.

- Restructuring Organization: As the trend is changing, so is the organizational structure. Organizations are becoming flatter and simpler.

- Globalization: Companies are going global, due to which the workforce diversity is increasing. Managing people with different religious, cultural, and moral backgrounds is a challenging task for HR Managers in the 21st Century.

Hope all these guidelines will help you in your project. You can search for all these topics individually on Google and citehr for more information.

Cheers,

Hi Karuna,

This is a beautiful presentation on the challenges to be faced by HR. I found this on our CiteHR platform. Please take some time to review this presentation and see if it can be helpful for you.

I am also attaching the file "HR Predictions." Please check if it can be useful to you. It contains forecasts on HR functions. Take some time to go through them and see if you can identify some key points.

The important thing to note is that both files are sourced from CiteHR :).

THREE CHEERS to CiteHR......

Hi Karuna,

You are most welcome, dear. :) I'm glad that I'm of some help. All those topics that are written in my email are all real-time problems. Work culture maintenance is a huge responsibility for an HR Manager. Managing change is again a big hurdle for success if not adhered to properly. Maintaining a balance between work life and personal life is also a real-life problem, due to which stress and conflicts take place. Surely, even I would appreciate it if other members put in their valuable inputs.

Cheers :)

I am working in XYZ company. If I want to tell an employee to leave the company and he is a team leader working for 5 years, the reason is his casual attitude in everything he does. He did not attend the training sessions, takes leave, and changes the duty roster on his own. When we told him to go and gave him a uniform, he did not follow the instructions. Can we sack him directly?

Do your own homework and use your brain. I think that is a serious challenge facing HR professionals. HR professionals are content to follow others when they really need to lead their workforce. They are content with staying in the shadows of an organization and simply doing what others have done before them. They need to step out of their traditional roles, stop their reliance on others, and think for themselves: they need innovation!

A lot has been written about HR evolving because of technology and advancements. Technology has reduced HR functions like payroll, leave, and attendance down to a couple of clicks. Although human elements of HR such as employee management and employee engagement are also evolving. Flexible work timings, open salary structures, and changes in strict dress codes may not necessarily work for all organizations. Thus, the biggest changes taking place in HR are not only through technology but also through changing work culture.

The article I am referring to is https://quikchex.in/3-questions-evolving-hr-manager/, which analyzes the evolving HR policies.
