Dear Senior, One new colleague has joined our company, and he wants to continue using his previous company's PF number. I don't know how to generate a unique PF number. Is it possible to continue his previous company's PF number, and if YES, how to do it?

Can a person - on joining a new company - transfer his PF accumulation with previous employer to the new one by applying on-line?

Dear Mr. Nitin, New employees need to have a new PF account in your company. After obtaining the new number, their previous PF accumulations can be transferred to your company's PF account by submitting Form-13. The employee must fill out Part-A (previous company PF details), and Part-B should be completed by you and submitted to the PF Office.

To date, the unique PF number system has not yet been implemented, but I hope it will be done soon by the end of this year. With this system, employees won't have to generate a new PF number every time they start a new job. Instead, they will have only one unique number to provide to their new employer, and the PF amount will be transferred to that account.

In your case, the employee can choose to either withdraw their last PF amount by filling out forms 10C and 19 or transfer the amount from their previous organization to the new account by filling out form 13. The choice is up to the employee.
