Hi, I left my X company in January 2011 and applied for PF withdrawal in September 2011. My application was rejected, and the reason provided was as follows:
On verification, it was found that your PF claim was rejected because the PF dues were not remitted by the employer for the year 2010-11.
Please let me know what I have to do now...

First, you should meet the concerned HR person in your previous company and inform them about this case. I think this problem should be solved at this stage.
He should fill out Form-19 along with Form 3A (Return of Contribution).

Thank you, Mr. Sandeep, for the prompt reply. My previous company is not taking any responsibility or supporting me. As I am based in Delhi and the company is located in Bangalore, I am unable to go there. I worked for around 6 years with this company and now want to withdraw my EPF, the amount submitted at the EPF office. To the best of my knowledge, the aforementioned company is not depositing EPF these days and is planning to close the business. Please guide me on how to proceed with my PF withdrawal.
Thanks & Regards,
Santosh

Dear Santosh Ji, Although you are Delhi-based and your former employer is Bangalore-based, you may request them through email to remit your contribution to EPF, which was deducted from your pay during the year 2010-11 until January 2011. Follow up on this diligently. You will certainly get a response sooner or later. Was your application for withdrawal forwarded by your former employer? Or did you send it directly?

First, you should contact your HR Manager over the phone as they are responsible for all these matters. If they do not respond appropriately, obtain a xerox copy of the returned form and write a letter to the head office stating that the PF department has returned your form due to their carelessness in paying PF contributions. Additionally, in the same letter, inquire whether the company has made contributions for the mentioned period or not. Request a response from your company within 15 days of receiving your letter. If you do not receive a proper reply, you can state, "I will take appropriate action against the company." Let's wait and see. If you continue to face difficulties getting a suitable response from your company, mention it on this platform, and I will guide you on the next steps.

I discussed with my former company (X Company) in the last week of March over the phone, and they informed me that the outstanding PF amount would be submitted in the month of June. However, now they are stating that it will be submitted next month. It seems like they are not concerned about it, as they are unwilling to provide any information over email or in writing. I kindly request your guidance on the next steps to take.
Thank you.

Sometimes it is not the company or the admin. In Bangalore, most of us are facing this problem. We submit the copy of the ex-employee's PF form to the PF office, and even after continuous follow-up with the PF Office, there is no reply. Do you know some of our ex-employees had paid money personally and taken their PF amount? We can't even question them as they may further delay in processing the PF for our ex-employees.
