Dear All,

If a daily-rated worker met with an accident and passed away, what will be the formula for calculating compensation under the Employees' Compensation Act in the case of death?

Suppose he was earning Rs. 250 per day.

1) 250 x 30 = 7500
7500 x 50% = 3750 x relevant factor

2) 250 x 26 = 6500
6500 x 50% = 3250 x relevant factor

Kindly suggest which one is correct out of the above two.

Thank you,
Parag

Dear Parag,

The daily rate worker formula is given below:

1) 250 x 30 = 7500
7500 x 50% = 3750 x relevant factor.

Because daily workers are paid on a daily basis, that is why your first formula is correct.

Dear sonigold87Wyahoo.com If the Act prescribes a particular method for calculating the wages, that method has to be followed. With regards
