I have recently had a career gap of 4 years. I worked for 6 years at an IT/software company. Afterwards, due to family problems, I took a break for 4 years. Can I now get an IT/software job again, even if I satisfy the interviewers very well? What should I say about the 4-year job gap? Will I be able to get any software jobs in the future despite this 4-year gap? Please advise.

Well, first of all if you are still competent that will matters. About the break, come up with something that reflects moral and positive behaviour.

Relating Family Commitments to Professional Qualities

If you were engaged in some family commitment, try to relate that with your qualities of fulfilling obligations and taking responsibilities with priorities. There is no bigger priority than family.

Confidence in Interviews

Don't underrate yourself in an interview. Be confident and speak without any fear of being rejected. You can offer to go through an extended probation period to prove your suitability.
