This is the quickest response I have ever received since I joined CiteHR. Thank you, folks... 

Amit, we do not have special allowances or any type of allowances. The components I have mentioned are the only ones that exist.

A. Ari, we have been given amounts for medicals as 1,250 and conveyance as 800.

However, I need to ask, if I keep the salary breakup as I have mentioned in my first post, is it not allowed?

Dear Seniors, can you please clarify my doubt? If an employee's salary is ₹5900, and the salary is split as 40% or 50% basic, it would be ₹2360 or ₹2950. However, according to PF rules, they have mentioned that the minimum wage should be the basic wage. In Andhra Pradesh, the basic wage is approximately ₹5800. What should I do? Please clarify my doubt.

Clarification on Basic Salary and PF Deductions

Dear Seniors, can you please clarify my doubt? If an employee's salary is ₹5900/-, and the salary is split like 40% or 50% basic, i.e., ₹2360/- or ₹2950/-. However, according to PF rules, the minimum wage should be the basic wage. In Andhra Pradesh, the basic wage is around ₹5800. What should I do? Please clarify my doubt.

Regards, Srinivas Jami

Dear Srinivas,

Greetings for the day, it is true that the basic salary should not be less than the minimum wage of the state, on which deduction of EPF should be done. In your case, the PF should be deducted on ₹5900/- instead of ₹2950 or ₹2360/-.

Thanks & regards,
