Hi, PF contribution is calculated based on the basic salary, and the basic salary changes according to the attendance for the month. If an employee has worked for only 15 days in a particular month, will the PF contribution for that month remain the same, or will it change based on the basic salary?

Thank you.

PF Contribution Calculation

PF will be calculated on the basic payout per month. If any employee worked for 5, 10, or 15 days, his/her PF contribution will be based on the number of working days. It varies from month to month depending on the number of employee working days.

For example, if my basic salary is Rs 10,000 and I worked 15 days in a particular month, my PF deduction will be on Rs 5000 * 12% from my side and the same amount from the employer's side.

If you need any clarifications, please let me know.

It's totally dependent on the number of employees, and it's not compulsory to hire a PF consultant for PF work. The HR person should handle all PF work. Let's list out the PF work starting from recruitment:

1. Once a new staff member is recruited, fill out the Nomination form and submit it to the PF office for a PF number.
2. Monthly contributions are calculated based on the basic payout * 12% for employees & 13.65% for employers.
3. Yearly returns are to be filed in Form 3A & 6A.
4. Settlement of PF amounts in Form No. 19, 10c, or 10D.
