While I appreciate the parallel and creative thinking in linking ancient and modern, my friend, this concession sometimes goes in excess to violate the sanctity of such personalities and more often hurts the sentiments of Hindus. That's why sometimes you find advertisements where Yama is defeated by a medicine, Narad is ridiculed, Sri Krishna's image is misused. In foreign countries, the image of Hindu deities is used in chapels, toilet basins, and panties as art pieces.
There are evangelists of M.F. Hussain's paintings as just artwork without considering the excesses of Hussain on the beliefs and sentiments of the people of Hindustan. What I say may be harsh or hard to take. It is no hard stretch of the imagination, practical happenings being observed in my life.

Dear Rangaji,
I felt it was just humorous efforts only, and I don't think it may hurt anyone's sentiment. It's up to us how we take it, and yes, Gods are always respected.

"Everything is funny as long as it happens to someone else" goes a saying. So long as I am not affected personally, I shall always sermonize, "it's up to us how we take it"; "Good imagination," "broad-mindedness," etc. If anything happens to me, I will measure with a different parameter because "it's up to us how we take it." Though in "Roles in Heaven" nothing derogatory is mentioned, yet such concessions lead to excesses. Since the thought is shared in a public forum, I share my concern.
