Hello, I am a B.COM graduate with over 8 years of experience in store administration. I am planning to move to Dubai in September 2011. I am curious about the salary I can expect in Dubai and what the average living expenses are per month. Is AED 3000 enough? I have heard this figure from some sources.

3000 AED is okay if your employer provides accommodation, transport, and food. If not, the amount you mentioned is not sufficient to survive in Dubai. Before you accept any offer, please confirm all the terms and conditions.
Best of luck.

dear Apoorv, AED 3000/- is nothing unless u get what Jawed suggested AND u r a bachelor. Even then, I would take the recommendation of Pon. msviswanathan

Before going to Dubai, thoroughly check the company as there are companies in Dubai that do not pay salaries on time. Three thousand dirhams is not sufficient if you have 8 years of experience unless you get accommodation from your company.

Please check all the information about the company before going. For at least daily overheads, we require a good amount of money. In the name of free accommodation, the company may not provide you with a good house. You require 8000 dirhams to survive and save some money for the future.

Cost of Living in UAE is very very high. If you are getting a lot of monry, you can go. But there is a huge reccession going on in UAE, soon many will be again coming back to India.

Dubai is as expensive or inexpensive as Mumbai, Singapore, London, etc., depending on your lifestyle. However, have you checked what your employers are offering, future prospects, and your expectations? Please clarify every aspect.
