Respected Sir, Madam,

I am newly joining a company as an HR recruiter. This is my first job. Please suggest and give me your valuable opinions regarding the recruitment process. How to recruit the candidates and what are the main points I have to ask them while recruiting. How to select the right person for a particular organization. Please tell me everything that is needed in recruiting the candidates.

You may consider the following as modes of recruitment:

a) Through advertising the posts in newspapers.
b) Through internal advertising/internal reference.
c) Through job portals.
d) Through social networking websites like Facebook, Orkut, etc.
e) Through professional networking websites like LinkedIn and Citehr.
f) Recruitment agencies.

The steps are as follows:

a) You must be aware of the ongoing positions for your firm and prepare job templates covering the following in brief:
- Designation
- Qualification
- Experience
- Reporting to
- Job Responsibilities

b) Start sourcing for the profiles.

c) Telecall the candidates and schedule interviews.

d) Once the interview is successfully conducted and salary negotiation is completed, the employee can be asked to join on the due date with the prerequisite documents. The remaining steps involve post-joining formalities.

Follow the steps for recruitment as follows:

1. Get the requisition from the respective department.
2. Match with the organogram.
3. If required, advertise internally and externally.
4. Collect the CVs and sort them according to the job profile.
5. Arrange the preliminary interview.
6. Screen them and administer a written test.
7. Conduct the final Viva.
8. Extend the job offer.
9. Conduct any necessary medical tests.
10. Finalize the placement.
11. Initiate the onboarding program.
12. Place in the respective department finally.
