Selecting a project involves two factors: one, what are the sponsoring organization's needs (they will have a few pressing problems for which they would like solutions); and two, what does the student feel passionate about? The latter is important, as only when the right project is chosen, there will be motivation to keep going when facing difficulties.
Though the title comes first in a report, it's the last thing one should worry about; however, the field of study is required at the outset to get approval from the institution's authorities.
