Subject: Suggestion for an Employee

Dear All Seniors,

I would like to suggest that an employee should join two months before and give their resignation two months in advance. However, if an employee does not provide any notice and leaves the next day, should the company consider deducting one month's salary from the employee? This situation arises because the employee is currently in the probation period. Therefore, the employee should repay one month's salary to the company.

Dear all, I'm new to this forum and I have just been assigned to create a Competency Skill Matrix for a restaurant. The hierarchy includes Sr. Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Manager, Service Manager, Asst. Restaurant Manager, Supervisor, Captain, Sr. Waiter/Sr. Waitress, and Waiter/Waitress. Are there any seniors here who have the matrix? Although I have heard of the matrix, I have never really seen or understood it.

Our restaurant chain has been operating for more than 20 years, and we don't even have this. The management wants me to create one, and I don't have a clue. The staff in the restaurant just do whatever is being told, and as long as no one complains, it's a blessing already.

I hope the experts here or the seniors whose company has a copy of the Competency Matrix can share it with me. I may not be taking everything directly, but at least I will have seen one and know what it is. I have until this Wednesday to come up with the first draft copy... 
