This update is for all Soft Skills and Corporate Trainers who have worked with Rajesh Iyer of Peak Performance Learning Solutions, Mumbai, and also for those who may become his victims in the near future.

I have been conducting programs at Syntel, Pune on behalf of Peak Performance since 2009 and had last conducted a two-day session in Oct 2010. He has not settled my dues for the past five months. In fact, I have repeatedly called Mr. Iyer for the past five months, but he doesn't answer my calls. It is obvious that he is deliberately avoiding making payment.

It is good that you brought this to the notice of fellow members. You can also post this piece of information on different threads where soft skills/corporate trainers have commented regarding freelance/full-time assignments. It will be good to alert them.

I guess it is done by many vendors. I had a similar experience with SEED Infotech, Pune. I conducted a PMP training program at Piaggio, India. It was a 4-day program. I did not receive a single penny as payment, as they claimed that the client had not paid them!

Hi Friends, please make it a practice to take at least 50% advance. I faced this problem when I was in practice. Due to mounting receivables, I had to shut down my practice and was forced to take a job.

After I posted my message on this forum, I received a call from Mr. Iyer. What followed was a never-ending sob story (clients have not paid, illness in the family, one of his trainers has let him down resulting in loss of business, etc.), but no commitment about when the payment would be made.

To get clients, few firms go for trainings with no advance payment. Even if it is paid, they do not reveal it to all the freelancers. Few of them are so bad that they do not care about the freelancers' struggle.

What I would suggest is that the trainers must accept 50% of the payment on the day of the training and the balance within 30 days. That should be made compulsory. It is my view, and I wish all take it positively.

Honestly, I am pretty surprised after reading this. I myself have worked with Mr. Rajesh Iyer of Peak Performance and had no payment issues whatsoever. I am not trying to be judgmental here, just putting my experience down, like you have put yours.

I have worked with a lot of training companies, and none of them really agree on any upfront/advance payment. So, I guess we have to just work on trust. The training companies also work on the same factor of trust and sign up with freelance trainers like ourselves. All I am saying is let us not lose our trust completely on a person or a system based on this one odd incident.

Hi,

It is also the same with Aspire Human Capital Pvt Limited. They never pay their trainers on time, and when the trainer requests for the payment, the first thing is to find or ensure negative feedback. Though there is no negative feedback, they will create a scene and will never pay the trainers.
