Interest in Safety Management Courses
Safety management, particularly the NEBOSH IGC (U.K.), is interesting to me. I have completed a diploma course in Fire & Safety Management and am currently working as a Senior Executive in Safety & Security at an MNC. Now, I am planning to pursue a safety course like NEBOSH. Will it be useful for my career? Please advise me on which course I can pursue and where these courses are available. I am not an engineering graduate. Please advise.

If you are posted in Chennai, the best safety course in India is the Regional Labour Institute's Safety Diploma Course in Guindy, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is a one-year full-time course that must be sponsored by your organization; individuals cannot enroll independently. However, if you can secure sponsorship from any organization, that would be acceptable.

Dear Mr. Partheeban M, As you are not an Engineering Graduate or Diploma Holder, I suggest you consider pursuing one first. The Safety Officer qualification is clearly defined in the act, stating that an engineering graduation or diploma is mandatory, along with a diploma in industrial safety from a recognized institute by the State Government. Any additional courses such as NEBOSH would be considered an added qualification. However, based on this qualification alone, you are not eligible to work in any factories in India. If you are planning to work abroad, pursuing NEBOSH would be beneficial.
My advice is for you to first consider undertaking an Engineering course if you aspire to work in the Safety Field.
