Hi All,
I have prepared an employee satisfaction survey in the form of a questionnaire, but I am not getting any ideas for the assessment. Even after I roll out the survey, how do I calculate the satisfaction index? Since we are an organization of 700 employees, I need your help in finding a method of assessment for the satisfaction survey. :D
Regards,
Parag

Well, hi,
I am also working on a project about job satisfaction among employees, specifically in NGOs. I am encountering a similar challenge to yours because I have drafted a questionnaire for the survey but am unsure about how the assessment should be conducted. The main difference lies in the sample size, which in my case is 150.
I am currently making efforts and working on this. As soon as I come across a solution, I will inform you. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions or solutions regarding the topic, please do share them with me. I believe that both of us can benefit mutually from this exchange.
I hope you agree too.

Hi,
Earlier, I had also posted the same issue on Cite HR regarding how to calculate the satisfaction index. I have followed a specific procedure, and there is a formula that may be helpful to you:
The method for calculating the Employee Satisfaction Index is as follows:
1. Utilize a five-point scale in the questionnaire where employee responses range from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree.
2. Align the negative and positive questions so that responses range from Strongly Agree (5) to Strongly Disagree (1). This helps ensure that employees have genuinely engaged with the questionnaire.
3. Calculate the total number of questions with answers for each response (5, 4, 3, 2, 1).
4. Determine the total number of questions answered to account for any unanswered questions in the questionnaire (TOTAL).
5. Calculate the TOTAL SCORE RECEIVED as follows: (total number of responses of 5 * 5) + (total number of responses of 4 * 4) + (total number of responses of 3 * 3) + (total number of responses of 2 * 2) + (total number of responses of 1 * 1).
6. Calculate the MAXIMUM TOTAL SCORE, which is the TOTAL (point 4) multiplied by 5.
7. Obtain the INDEX by dividing the TOTAL SCORE RECEIVED by the MAXIMUM TOTAL SCORE and then multiplying by 100.
I hope this method proves effective for you.
Thanks & Regards,

To calculate the Employee Satisfaction Index:
1. Use a five-point scale in the questionnaire where employee responses range from Strongly Agree, Agree, Undecided, Disagree, to Strongly Disagree.
2. Align the negative and positive questions so that responses range from Strongly Agree (5) to Strongly Disagree (1). This ensures that employees have not simply marked the questionnaire without reading it, especially if there are negative questions.
3. Calculate the total number of questions with answers against each response (5, 4, 3, 2, 1).
4. Calculate the total number of questions answered to account for cases where a question is left unanswered (TOTAL).
5. Calculate the TOTAL SCORE RECEIVED as follows: (total number of responses of 5 * 5) + (total number of responses of 4 * 4) + (total number of responses of 3 * 3) + (total number of responses of 2 * 2) + (total number of responses of 1 * 1).
6. Calculate the MAXIMUM TOTAL SCORE, which is TOTAL (point 4) * 5.
7. The INDEX is then calculated as TOTAL SCORE RECEIVED / MAXIMUM TOTAL SCORE * 100.
I hope this method works for you.

Hi,
Thanks for your help for Project E's satisfaction index. But I need more help; I am quite confused. I have responses from 45 employees (samples) out of 150, in which they have answered 15 questions ranging from strongly disagree to strongly agree. Now, the responses I have from all samples show average satisfaction. I want your help on the method of analysis of those responses to the questionnaire.
