Hi everybody, I am working in a private limited company with a small team consisting of 5 members. However, the problem is that one of my seniors is not talking to me. He has a good grip on the work, but even when I try to communicate with him, he doesn't reply to my questions and hasn't assigned any work to me. Please advise me on what I should do to address this situation.

Hey, is there any problem between both of you previously? If not, then say "Sorry" to him. If there is an issue, ask him politely why he is not talking with you. Try and see, I think both terms can work.

Dear Krishna Raj, If you don't have peer coordination or if they are not socializing with you, then don't worry. The key is to socialize with everyone and also be flexible with your character. In between your sincere work, take a 5-minute break and during those breaks, crack jokes or play some icebreakers. When you do this, these actions will be noticed by that senior, and his perception towards you will change. Mark my words, he will come and speak with you. But kindly remember to be productive as well.

Sometimes, seniors may feel threatened by a junior due to the competitive spirit, leading to insecurity which could cause this issue. To address this, it is important to make the junior feel comfortable by avoiding excessive aggression and being friendly, without overdoing it.

Dear all, I really appreciate your valuable suggestions regarding my colleague. However, I have already tried all the above-mentioned things that you suggested, but there has been no response from him. I send him a text message daily, but he does not reply at all. Interestingly, he sends messages to everyone else in the office. I don't understand why he is behaving this way. Friends, please advise me on what I should do to change his behavior.

I suggest you try the opposite approach. Respect him as a senior, but don't give him so much importance that you become panicked. Start ignoring him and try to make new friends. Remember, the world is vast.

That's really cool. I agree with Madhuri. Nice strategy, in fact. But do not ignore anyone. Just restrict yourself to saying "Hi," "Hellos," and "good mornings."

The best idea would be: DO NOT EXPECT ANY BEHAVIOR IN YOUR FAVOR OR AGAINST YOU FROM ANYONE IN THIS WORLD (Other than your parents, who will always care for you). Do not try to impress anyone unnecessarily. Let your work speak for you. Do not hide or run away from people; just be friendly with them. Be honest and keep your integrity. You will be liked by many people around you.
