Dear Seniors,
One of my friends wishes to withdraw his PF from his previous company, namely Kohli Management Solutions Pvt Ltd in NOIDA, which was closed in January 2007. He had worked in the above company from April 2006 to January 2007. There is no trace of the employer for the individual.
Request advice on the correct procedure for the withdrawal of PF from the above account.

Dear Arun,
Please check if the employee has a PF number. If yes, tell him to fill up Form-19 and 10C. Since the company is closed, it needs to be signed by a Gazetted Officer like Manager of a Public Sector Bank or Magistrate of a Court. Inform them that the company is closed. After that, submit the forms to the PF office with a covering letter stating that the company is closed (if possible, provide the correct date). Since the company is closed, you will not receive Form-3A, which details the contributions paid by the employee and employer. I believe you will not face any problems because I have done this for my employees.
Once the PF office receives the information about the closure of the establishment, they will process the application of registration under EPF made by them. There, they will receive the Memorandum of Association (MOA) and a list of directors with addresses and contact numbers. EPF will issue a notice to them for not informing about the closure and take appropriate action.
