Hi Monika,

These are the levels/grades that we follow in our technology division. I believe this information could be helpful to you to some extent:

1. Associate Software Engineers (between trainees and developer level) < 2 Years
2. Developers/Software Engineers: 2 - 4 Years
3. Sr. Level / Team Lead: 4 - 6 years
4. Technical Leads: 6 - 10 years
5. Project Managerial Levels: > 10 years

Hi Sanjay,

Thank you very much for your reply. One more thing if you could help in this regard: I want information about the yearly increment. How much increment should be given to employees at various levels? Do you have any general idea about it? I understand that it depends on the employee's performance and the company standards, but there should be some general increment slabs like 10-15% for level 1, and so on.

Your reply will be appreciated. Thanks once again for your response.

No probs Monika.
I believe you are trying to address the minimum hike for certain levels.
Here we go....although an employee's performance is not up to the mark during his appraisal period, still the company will offer him the minimum hike based on the org standardz. As per the industry.. the minimum increment is not more than 15%, for all levels (this will not increase based on the positions). However the above figure could vary based on the company's appraisal procedure….. cuz some company's appraisal could be once in six months or once in a year… in this case the minimum hike would be < 10%.
The maximum hike will be calculated based on the performance and other aspects of the employee.
