Hi All,
I would like to know if there is any difference between MBA (HR) and MPM. As far as I know, in MPM, we study only HR from day one, as I have done MPM, and in MBA (HR), we study all the papers in the 1st year and specialize in HR in the 2nd year. When I got married, my parents told my in-laws that I did MBA (HR), but I have done MPM. Now they say that we have cheated them. So, I want to tell them it's all the same.
Please reply?????

Hi Sweta,
If one has done an MBA, he has a chance to change his line, whereas if you have done MPM, you have to go for HR/personnel only. This is the only difference, nothing else. Still, people are not well-versed with the management courses and they take an MBA certification as a status symbol. That's all. I have already completed my two-year full-time PG diploma in management (equal to an MBA), but still, few people ask if it's an MBA or just a diploma. Can't help. I am in search of institutes providing MPM through distance learning. Please, if you know, mail me the institute addresses.

There is a difference between MPM and MBA (HR). The focus area of HR is Training & Development, induction programs, recruitment, Performance Appraisal, retention strategies, and HR policies. On the other hand, MPM deals with PF, ESIC, labor welfare, and some legal compliances, etc.
