First of all, check your RAM and the software loaded in it. If it has 256 MB of RAM, it will eventually slow down if cookies, temporary files, and recent documents are not regularly deleted.
- Go to 'Run'.
- Enter '%temp%'.
- Delete everything, including the hidden files.
- Run 'cookies' and delete everything.
- Run 'recent' and delete everything.
- Enter 'msconfig'.
The system utility window will open up. At the top, click on 'startup' and see how many boxes have been selected. If it's more than 5, the startup will be slow. You can deselect Yahoo, Gmail, Adobe, or any torrent software if present, and then it will ask for a restart.
