Dear All,

I am new to the forum. Currently, I am working in a software firm based in Indore. My query is how I can implement HR policies if the employer is not willing to do so. There hasn't been any position for HR in my organization before my appointment. After I joined, I implemented a few policies like Attendance and Leave. Now, I want to systematize the appraisal system, which is causing lots of grievances among the employees. However, my boss, who is a partner in the company, is not really willing; he wants to go his own way. What steps can I take at my level?

Please suggest to me.

Kshama

Dear Kshama,

The HR role in an organization is akin to that of a father. It requires the skill of implementing things in a comfortable and balanced manner. You have the opportunity to establish procedures/policies when issues arise or create issues and provide solutions. This approach is crucial in the HR function.

Dhiraj

Hi Kshama,

As you are new to the organization, don't try to impose procedures all of a sudden. If your boss is reluctant to the changes and procedures, then do it gradually. Try to conduct grievances or an employee perception survey about the organization with your boss's consent to give him a clear picture of the improvements that can be done for the organization to achieve prolific results in the future. Start with small endeavors; I am sure it will help.
