I want to pursue an MBA through distance learning. I am considering either Amity Distance Learning or MIT Ghaziabad Distance Learning, and I am confused about which institute to choose. Please advise me on what would be better for me, Amity or MIT. Cost is not a concern for me. I am looking for the option that offers quality education, excellent job placement opportunities, a strong brand name, and good market value.

I have completed my B.Com. Please respond to me with your recommendation.

Dear Kshitij,

The distance learning scenario is really vast. So first thing, don't restrict yourself to one or two choices. Look at all the options. In this age of IT-driven learning, look beyond the country. With distance no bar, do an International MBA. The cost difference may not be too high. The demand would be in terms of your abilities. No Indian distance education program I have seen comes close to the standards set by the International MBA programs. Added to that, you also get to learn from students all over the world. The only drawback, as far as I can see, is that the programs are demanding in their standards. You will require a very high caliber of thinking and English speaking & writing skills. Hope this helps.

Dear Kshitij,

I appreciate your passion for learning. As far as education through correspondence education, it is not highly valued in industries, corporations, or educational institutions. They require full-time, on-site learning. If time is a constraint, as Mr. Yashkumar has suggested, IGNOU is the best-recognized correspondence course center. Even though it may be tedious and strenuous to complete an MBA there, it is well-regarded by organizations.

All the best!

Dear Sir,

I have knowledge about MBA from Indira Gandhi Open University in HR. What are the minimum qualifications, age requirements, and necessary experience for this program? Additionally, could you provide information on the application process including the fees involved and the nearest center to Sonepat along with their contact number and address?

Please assist me with this matter.

Thank you,

Dear, you have just completed your graduation, so pursuing an MBA through distance learning mode doesn't suit you at all because any professional company will ask for a regular full-time MBA. It's more advisable to opt for a regular MBA program. Distance learning MBA programs are more suitable for working professionals rather than for young individuals like yourself.

Dear Sir,

I am working in an Indian multinational company, and my company is offering an M.B.A. from I.M.T. Ghaziabad for executives. To pursue this opportunity, we are required to pay 50% of the fees. Could you please advise me on whether this would be a beneficial decision for me?

Thank you.

Honestly speaking none of them have much value in the market. If you really want to do MBA go in for a Regular one or if money is not an issue do One Year PG Course in HR from XLRI distant learning but it cost Rs. 2 Lacs…Rest is your choice.

Hi,

Greetings. I am a new entrant in this discussion, as I registered just today. With all my experience as a professor and HR Officer, I would like to say that there is no value for MBA through distance learning irrespective of the university. Especially in the Gulf, if you are a graduate, you can get nice jobs. What you need are good communication skills and presence of mind. I have seen people with MBAs struggling to grow in their careers. This is because of the uncertainty in the job market. So, having an MBA is an additional feather in your cap. Only your performance can take you high.

If you want to improve your personality, do the MBA course directly from the college. Because classroom training will help you a lot.

Hi all,

I do not agree with those people who have the mindset that education from distance mode is not valuable. We are living in the Indian economy where some people have a lot of money while others are beggars; the demands of the market, industry, social, and public sectors are the same. Regular institutes are doing nothing but commercializing education. Those who are not capable of pursuing a regular MBA can opt for distance education. I have many friends from correspondence studies who are doing well in their respective sectors. You can take an example from the Mahabharata, specifically the section on Eklavya.

With due respect to all those averse to online learning, having myself completed an online program on Project Management from Robert Kennedy College, University of Wales, I can say that the benefits of an international and well-acclaimed program, even if online, are 100 times more than a regular program at any college.

Also, one has to understand that the MBA is not a program that will help you only in getting a job today. It is a tag that stays with you forever. Its value one will find not only today but when you are moving from the middle management level to the top management level. At that place, one will look at the pedigree, and that comes only with a well-known name behind you.

India becoming an international business player will mean that international credentials will play a more important role in your job prospects sooner than later.

What <link updated to site home> 'mosesdanial' says, I differ. Even in the Gulf, the competition is such that a simple graduation will not get you a good job. What you will get is only a decent salary, which when converted into Indian Rupees will look good. But this will tend to stagnate, and you will soon see your peers moving well ahead of you.

Hi,

I have one suggestion. You can do your distance learning through WELINGKAR Institute as well. However, since it's a B School, they offer a PG course and not a Master's degree. I believe they have a campus in Bangalore as well, apart from Mumbai. The fees for a two-year program are approximately 50 thousand. They provide the facility of online lectures too, i.e., Virtual Classroom Facility (VCF), and they also conduct Personal Contact Programs (PCP). Additionally, they offer part-time programs, but that is for a duration of three years, and applicants need two years of work experience to enroll. Therefore, freshers cannot pursue this course.

All the best.

Sonali
