How Can I Secure My Provident Fund Release from a Previous Employer Without Direct Contact?

Hello all,

I am Ashish Garg from Delhi. I've worked in a Kolkata-based company at their Delhi branch as Branch Manager for approximately 2.5 years before. I have left the company due to some unwanted disputes from the management. My Provident Fund was deducted from my salary as per company norms. My PPF account number is also mentioned on the salary slip provided by the company. However, I didn't want to make any contact with the employer due to their poor response in my last working days.

My problem is the PF amount that lies in my PF account, which I want to release. It is approximately 25,000/-. What is the procedure to get a refund? Is any form or format required? Could the employer's management create hurdles in releasing the amount? Please guide me and provide details as I am in need and require the refund at the earliest.

Yes, there is a form required to withdraw the PF amount. Request your previous employer to sign it; if they don't do it, then you can get it signed by a gazetted officer. You can also contact the PF officer at your local PF office.

Dear Ashuarya,

If you are presently working in Delhi for any company, you can transfer your PF accumulation to your new PF account at the current company. If you are not currently employed, and if a 6-month period has passed since resignation, you can withdraw the PF amount by filling out the withdrawal form and obtaining a gazetted officer's signature on the form. It's really simple.

If you are working, then you can transfer your amount to your present PF Account. It's very simple. You can ask your HR, and he will guide you.

Can anybody guide me further on how I can transfer my Provident Fund amount to my new PF account? Is there any form required for that and where is it available? Yes, Ashish, you need to collect Form 13 from the local PF office of your current organization and fill it out. Then, take the signature of your present employer to transfer your previous PF amount to your new account.

If you wish to withdraw the total amount from your previous PF account, please fill out Form 19. For the pension fund, fill out Form 10 C (Note: If your previous account was open for less than 6 months, Form 10 C is not necessary). Obtain the signature of your previous employer. If they do not agree, please obtain the signature from your bank manager or contact the PF office of your past organization. The PF office will take the necessary steps against your previous employer.

All these forms are available at your local PF office.
