Boosting Your Offer vs. Joinee Ratio: How a Simple Family Welcome Letter Made a Difference

dasa77
Dear All,

As an HR professional, it is a challenge to get people on board. There are several ways to increase the Offer vs. Joinee ratio. One effective method we have implemented is sending a "welcome letter" to the family members of new joiners. I am enclosing the letter format for your reference. This practice has proven to help us increase our joinee rate by 5%.

Regards,
Dasa

Sounds like a good idea. This would definitely create an emotional attachment with the employee and his family, thus enhancing the company's image. In short, a noble idea.

Hey Dasa,

That was some out-of-the-box thinking, and I congratulate you on the same. I am sure this must have worked. I must thank you for opening our eyes to new ideas...

Dear Dasa,

Really nice and unique way of thinking. It surely would give the joiner and concerned family an emotional bonding and increase the company's value in his/her mind.

Really good thought.

To add value and make it more effective, we can even invite any of the family members on the date of joining. I have been implementing this in my organization for the past 3 years. We host a welcome party for any new joinees with a cake-cutting ceremony along with their family members. Photos are taken and included in the monthly internal magazine.

Depending on the time, availability, and number of recruits, we can plan this activity. We can designate one particular day in a month or week to have a New Recruits Induction Day.

A very good idea for building a new bond. I will try to inculcate the same in my organization as well.
