Excited for Our First Bangalore HR Meet? Join Us as a Volunteer to Make It a Success!

Dear All,

As you are all aware, we used to conduct the Cite HR Meets often in Bangalore. After creating this new forum of the Bangalore Group by Mr. Sidhartha, we are having our first Bangalore Group's HR meet in June 08. We are planning to have it on 28th June 08, Saturday, between 4 PM and 6 PM. We are speaking to a few eminent speakers to join us for the meet and make the meeting useful to all of us by giving guest lectures/presentations on selected topics. Some of them have already given their consent to honor the meet by their presence.

We have noticed that some companies are already willing to sponsor the event. Now it is time for us to meet and plan how to organize the meet. I am looking forward to volunteers to take up some responsibilities and make the event a grand success.

If anyone is interested in being a volunteer, kindly send me a private message with your contact details. Our first volunteer meet is scheduled for Wednesday, 14th May 08, at around 6:45 PM.

We have done a few programs earlier with the same duration. Being a weekend, we can't expect people to stay for long. Secondly, the actual program with lectures and presentations will be for 2 hours. Then, there will be free time for networking with each other. That can go on for hours, depending on the participants' availability.

In our earlier program, we completed the entire program within 4 hours, including the Q&A session. We can manage it within the specified time frame.

Thank you for your interest. Actually, we never force anyone to be a volunteer. People who are interested can come and join us for the volunteer meet. If you are free and able to spare some time to work on the responsibility assigned to you, then you can join us as a volunteer. We never fall short of volunteers, as even two or three volunteers can take up the complete responsibility and will complete the assigned task. If more volunteers are available, then the responsibilities can be shared, and work can be completed at the earliest.

Welcome to Cite HR and the Bangalore forum.

The CHR Meet will be held on 28th June 2008. The venue will be finalized soon, and the same will be updated in this forum.

As far as volunteers for the meet are concerned, it is an individual's wish. If you can spare and contribute your time in organizing the meet, you can join us for the next meet. The next volunteer meet date is yet to be finalized. Keep watching this thread for updates on the volunteer meet.

We are supposed to have the volunteers' meeting this evening, but upon further consideration, I realized that some people are not available and it has been continuously raining in the evenings. Therefore, I propose postponing the volunteers' meeting to this Saturday (24-05-08) afternoon at around 3 PM at the same place (Airlines Hotel).

Kindly share your opinions so that we can collectively decide whether to postpone the meeting to Saturday or to proceed with it today.

Dear All,

Though it was raining yesterday, I appreciate the people's interest in making this meeting happen and joining yesterday's volunteers' meet. It was discussed yesterday about the number of registrations received and how to further promote this event among HR professionals.

As of now, we have received around 30 registrations from different sectors, including IT, Service, Manufacturing, BPOs, and others. We still need to make it more grand. Therefore, we are proposing that volunteers and other participants refer this event to their HR friends to encourage participation and send in registrations. (We are not forcing anyone to do so, but with the purpose of this meeting in mind, we are suggesting HR fraternities inform others about this event and encourage their participation.)

To further promote this event, we are seeking any freelance newspaper or media reporters (such as TOI, DH, IE, or any other media) who can assist us in placing a small news item in their events or happenings column. (If any member knows such media personnel, please ask them to send me a private message.)

Again, we need to plan many more things that should involve the volunteers. We are planning to meet again on Saturday (24-05-08) around 3 PM at the same place. Please let me know so that we can confirm the meeting tomorrow.
