1. Recruitment
2. Performance appraisal
3. Performance management system
4. Employee engagement
5. Training and development evaluation
6. Employee welfare
7. Knowledge sharing process
8. Knowledge management
9. Six Sigma in HR
10. Job satisfaction, etc.

But remember, the topic should be compatible with the information resources available within the company where you do your summer project.

I am also specializing in HR and have just completed my summer project. My topic was training needs analysis in a pharmaceutical company for employees at different work levels. It was a great learning experience. I would suggest you consider focusing on training and development, recruitment, or 360-degree appraisal as they are very good areas. Best of luck in whatever area you choose. The choice often depends on the organization you work for, so I recommend discussing with your project guide in the organization to determine which area would be beneficial for both you and the organization.

There are many suggestions, but what I would like to suggest is:

First, choose an industry you want to do a summer project with, keeping in mind your final placement.

Then, look out for a topic on which very few people have worked.

Seek help from the company's HR to guide you on the topics.

Have at least three to four topics handy and choose the one for which you'll be able to get the data and information.

My suggestion is to study:
- Work-Life Balance
- Benchmarked HR Practices in the Industry
- Training evaluation: how successful and beneficial for organizations
- Measuring performance through 360 degrees
- Comparative analysis between two firms of the same industry in recruitment practices, training methods, performance management, and anything else.

Ekta, I believe that training and development is a good area for a project. I am learning a lot about it while exploring the scope of my own project. Apart from that, recruitment would also provide you with valuable exposure. The choice ultimately depends on your preferences and the requirements of the organization.

My project was conducting a training needs analysis in a renowned pharmaceutical company. I can't share the report with you as I'm not allowed to do so, but I'd definitely tell you how I went about the project.

Well, the organization had different employees working at various work levels, around 10 work levels in total. What I did was segregating the training needs of different employees from different departments at different work levels. This was done through the help of a questionnaire as well as some interviews.

Using the questionnaire, I identified various behavioral training needs for each employee. The most crucial part was segregating those needs department-wise because every department has specific requirements. This is how I carried out the project. Feel free to ask me anything you want to know in this regard. I'll try to help you out. All the best.

Please do not request finished projects or questionnaires on this forum. Instead of asking for a completed project, please search CiteHr where some projects are attached. Then do a literature survey and formulate your aim and objectives for the research (in consultation with the host organization). You also need a conceptual framework for that. Decide what hypotheses you want to test. If you have not done any of the above essential preparation for conducting a project, I would advise you to please do so and then pose a precise question.
