Where Can I Find Comprehensive Info on Employer Obligations in India?

madhujit
Hi Friends:

I wanted to know where I can find details about all the statutory obligations of the employer regarding his employees. Is there a book or website available where I can get information on laws regarding leave, bonus laws, provident fund, and many more such questions?

Thanks,
Madhujit

Hi Madhujit,

For these, you can get bare acts on these issues from your book vendor or join HR Yahoo e-groups like HR Acts or employment in India.

Websites to refer to:
- www.helplinelaw.com/docs/main.php3?id=PFND1

Hi Madhujit,

There are many websites available that provide the provisions of Bare Acts applicable to India in the Labour context. Two such sites are as follows:

1. www.mahalibrary.com
2. www.vakilno1.com

Hi friends,

Whether doctors are covered under the Maternity Act, they are eligible for receiving maternity benefits. Kindly clarify my doubts.

Hi,

I would recommend a book written by Dr. Samant - "Labour Law for Employers". All statutory laws are beautifully described in a question-answer form.

Hi Murali,

Maternity benefits are applicable to all female regular employees of any organization. If the doctor is a regular employee of the organization, then she is definitely eligible for the same.

Hello Friends,

Could you please let me know which statutory laws are applicable in HR when an Indian Company is "MERGED" with a foreign company? This foreign company has established a private limited company in India and taken over the existing company suo-motu.

Thanks,
Manoj

Dear Madhujit,

Namaskar.

By this time, you might have a good collection of laws - bare acts as well as commentaries. May I ask you two questions?

1. Are you sure of what is legally right and what is wrong?
2. Can you be sure of what is legally right and what is wrong?

Regards,
Jogeshwar
Dear Madhujit,

There is a book named "Labour Laws" by H. L. Kumar. It is in two volumes. This book contains all the labor laws applicable in India.

Be cool while going through the book. If you have an interest in reading law, then this book will help you. If you want a superficial study on applicable labor laws in India, the index of the book will give you an idea of this.

Hi Atul,

Can you provide me with information on the normal statutory compliances related to India that companies typically follow? Does this include EPF, ESI, etc.? I currently don't have any knowledge about them. Could you please assist me in understanding these requirements?

Sapan

For Leave Rules, you can visit the India leave policy. For Bonus Laws, refer to the Main provisions of Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 in brief | Tax Guru. For Provident Fund information, visit EPF India.

Trust this information will meet your requirement.
