Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Energy Monday changed its name to Reliance Infrastructure Ltd, the company announced here. The infrastructure major has received the certificate from the registrar of companies, Maharashtra, registering the change in the name. Reliance Infrastructure is directly and indirectly engaged in a number of projects in the field of power generation, transmission, and distribution. It has also launched several other infrastructure projects like highways, roads, bridges, metro rail, and other mass rapid transport systems, airports, special economic zones (SEZs), etc. The new name reflects the current nature of the company's businesses, said the statement. The name change will not affect any of the rights and obligations of the company to its stakeholders.
