Dear Sudhaya
I do not understand. U get an increment letter. You do not get that payment. You resign.
If I were in the panel, I will definitely probe as to why you resigned. More questions will come till you could clarify reasonably well.
If you have opted to resign because you were not happy with the increase, it may not be liked by all. And why resign and search for a job. You could have continued in the employment and got a job.
It is generally a negative point, if an employee resigns and searches for a job that too after getting an increment letter.

Sometimes it happens that the increment is announment is announced but payrment is done after a month our so. I do not know whether you tried to resolve, discussed with them and also not sure whether it happened with you or with everyone in your company. Will you leave the new organization if it happens there as well or would you try to resolve.

Hi Sudhaya,
I am still not sure the reason for you leaving the last job definitely not the increment being deposited into your account.
If you are planning to get a new job for a better salary with the increment letter then you will have to state the reason for leaving the job as personal and not the one you have mentioned in the post.
Please make sure you give a good referral from the current company cause it shouldnt happen that the new company contacts the current one and finds out the reason for leaving the job is different.
Hope you sort out this issue soon, anyways asking for a better pay for your position doesnt require you to show the increment letter just mention the revised salary in your job request.
Thanks & Regards,
AJ

Hey guys,
Can any one help me with a situation?
I was looking for a change and i got an offer from a HR Outsourcing firm, which is a small firm with a very few employees.
They have offered me 1.8 lacs, while my previous sal was 1.3 with around 10 k in hand and PF (Provident Fund) as well as PT (Professional Tax) was being deducted as per company norms.
The question here is they are offering me 1.8, i.e, 15 k in hand with no benefits, no pf.
Only the Pt will be deducted from the sal.
So just want a suggestion, is this kind of hike ok?
Should i ask for other benefits?
Or is there something else any one could suggest me?
Please help me?

Anu

Hi Anu,
The jump from 1.3 to 1.8 seems quite impressive but still cant comment if its the right thing to do untill and unless i am aware of your geographical location, experience or your qualification. What I mean is if the new job offered to you is worth your time.
Although considering ideal factors, I am apprehensive about two factors one its a HR outsourcing company and the second is that I wonder how some companies still affords not to pay the PF and hence the deduction.
Weighing pros and cons my advise should be to take the job with a better role(negotiating that wont be a problem) and use it as a stop gap solution so that you can to enter the big league.
Hence taking up this position will be good if you have a definite career plan.
Also if you are fluent in german please reply I might have a very good and immediate offer for you.
Thanks & Regards,
AJ

Hi AJ,
Thank you for the quick reply and Thank u for the offer, but i dont speak German.
Well, let me clear it for you.
I m residing in Mumbai.
I have around 1.9 years of experience (around a year in recruitments & 7 months in generalist profile). i am a graduate and pursuing an MBA (Part Time)
Now, abt my current work profile; its not a very typical HR profile.
I m doing a more of a coordination work and assisting the other senior HR members of the team.
So i was looking for a job where i do more meaningful HR related work and after trying at various places i landed up with this Outsourcing firm.
Now what positive side i cud see here was an opportunity to learn.
but still was a lill confused.
I think this is enough to analyse my situation.
Please reply.

Hi Anu,

Thank you for detailing.

I believe you should take the new position as far as no contracts are signed in terms of the period of time you will have to stick to the new job.

Being in Mumbai 1.3 is quite less and since you are still pursuing your MBA 1.8 would mean better cash flow and definitely better job profile as they would expect you to take initiatives and thats what you would need to grow in your job and experience.

The only problem you might have with this new option would be job satisfaction or the chances that this new job might not be a dream job. But still if it allows you to grow and learn more I believe its worth the risk.

Go ahead and take the profile. Be a person who makes the best of any opportunity. :-) And keep looking for that dream profile as well I am sure once you have cleared your MBA it would be much easier for you to be there.

And you can still refer some guys who are fluent in german and make some quick bucks.

Take care of yourself and have a very good week ahead.

AJ
