Seeking Guidance on Medical Fitness Certification for Our Factory Cook: Local Doctor or IF Approved?

I'm working in an Garment Export Unit located at Tirupur. In my company, we have a small mess in which a lady is working as a cook to prepare tea, coffee, and snacks. I was told that according to factory law, the cook must be medically fit to prepare food. How should the medical check-up be done for the cook? Is it sufficient if a Medical Fitness Certificate is collected from a local MBBS doctor, or must it be done by an IF approved doctor? I'm in a dilemma. Please provide me with correct information.

A normal test should include blood tests, urine tests, blood pressure checks, and cardiovascular tests. Since she is female, a gynecological test can also be considered to be on the safe side. All tests should ensure that the cook is not carrying any contagious diseases, is free from any past or present illnesses that may hinder her ability to work, and is fit for work.

An MD is the most appropriate authority to certify her medical certificate. Alternatively, a doctor with an MBBS qualification on the LIC panel or ESIC panel could also suffice. However, it is best to obtain certification from a doctor practicing in a state or central government-owned hospital.
