Updating Travel Policies: How Do You Determine Fair Rates for Local Travel?

nil2177
Hi All,

I am in the process of reframing the travel policy for my company. Can anybody shed some light on the rates applicable for local travel in Metro/Non-Metro cities? (The old rate is Rs. 2.5/km - decided 8 years ago for my company.)

I would like to request the following:

1. Either provide an idea on how to determine this rate?
2. Share the current rates applicable in your company :-).

Regards,

Hi,

The slabs which you are asking about are for local conveyance being used for official purposes. Usually, it is divided into two categories: two-wheeler and four-wheeler.

Car:
- For 31-35 Kms: 4.5 Rs/km
- For 35 Kms and above: 5 Rs/km

Two-wheeler:
- For 31-35 Kms: 2 Rs/km
- For 35 Kms and above: 2.5 Rs/km

Now, in view of increased petrol rates, it is due for revision. Has anyone taken the step?

Best Regards,
Anu

Hi,

In my organization, we have revised the rates to Rs. 5.50 per km, regardless of whether it is a two-wheeler or a four-wheeler. We pride ourselves on being the best paymasters in the industry.

Cheers :D

Hi,

I have framed a Two Wheeler Policy for my organization. We do not cover maintenance costs. Please find the attachment. Attachment 45367
