Respected Seniors,

In our company, a staff newly joined from another company. He was paying ESI in his old company. He has an ESI number as well. Now, my question is, can he continue his ESI with the same number? Kindly advise me on the procedures to be followed if he can continue with the same number.

Regards,

Hi,

Every company is issued a unique employer number, and every employee's ESI number starts with this employer code. So when a person leaves one company and joins a new company, it has to be changed.

Dear Anand,

You don't need to change the ESIC number of the employee. If the employee has been issued the ESIC card (temporary or permanent), the same can be continued. All you have to do is to add the ESIC code number of your company on these cards. This change can be easily done at your local ESIC office.

Hello to everyone,

I have joined a company as an Exec. P&A. This company deals in security guards. However, as I am very fresh in this field, I don't know anything. Please, can anybody tell me how I can get an ESIC code number from the ESI office and what are the things I have to keep in mind? This branch is newly opened, so nobody knows much about it. Please email me at pksihmar@rediffmail.com.

Thank you!
