Hi,

I have completed my PGDBM in BPO/ITES from IIM B and currently work as a trainer. I am considering pursuing an MBA in HR through part-time/distance learning. I am having trouble deciding on a good institute to pursue this from. Can you please help me with some recommendations?

Thank you.

If you are already employed full-time and looking to pursue a part-time PG/MBA program, you may consider Symbiosis. Technically, it is not an MBA, but rather a PG program. Personally, I believe Symbiosis would be the most practical option for you.

The prospectus for the program will be available in the first week of April. For more detailed information, you can visit www.scdl.net.

Thank you.

Hi Saumya,

Yes, you have an option to pursue an MBA in HR through distance education. You can join Sikkim Manipal University through several learning centers in Bengaluru, which are all affiliated with the same SMU university. However, in this education mode, exams will be in the form of MCQs; there is no need to write the answers, just to tick the correct answers among the options. Every question carries negative marking. SMU is also recognized by UGC. I believe admissions are still open for this spring season.

You can access information about SMU via this link: http://smude.edu.in

Hey Saumya,

If you really want to do your MBA in HR, then it's better to try for institutes like SCMHRD (Symbiosis Institute of Human Resources, Pune through SNAP), MDI HR (that's in Delhi, it can be pursued through CAT), TISS (that's in Mumbai-Chembur, it can be pursued by taking the TISS exam). Also, try XLRI (that's in Jamshedpur, it can be pursued through CAT or even XAT).

Try your luck. Best of luck and take care.
