ESI Applicability for Small Shops: How Does It Affect Companies with Fewer Than 20 Employees?

Hi, I would like to know about ESI applicability for a company registered under the Shops & Establishments Act. We have 10 employees earning below Rs 10,000 and 30 employees earning above Rs 10,000.

I am looking for information regarding the applicability of the act when the number of employees is less than 20 at a shop.

According to me, you have to register since your total strength is more than 20. Friends, correct me if I am wrong. You can visit the ESI website www.esic.nic.in for all the details and even the act. Hope that will be useful for you.
