Will you please clarify one doubt... What minimum wage does one have to offer under the Contract Labour Act or the Minimum Wages Act?

Dear Sir,

For employments for which a schedule of employment is available, the minimum wages as per the Minimum Wages Act are required to be paid.

For employments for which a schedule of employment is not available, contract labor wages are required to be paid.

Hi all CiteHR family members, this is Chandrasekhar. Can you justify the minimum wages and contract labor wages? What is the difference between contract labor wages and minimum wages? Kindly let me know if contract labor wages are different from minimum wages. Are contract laborers eligible for minimum wages?

In Andhra Pradesh, contract labor wages are revised once every two years and paid to all contract laborers for whom a schedule of employment is not available. Minimum wages are revised once every five years. Only the Dearness Allowance (DA), based on the cost of living index, is revised twice a year on April 1st and October 1st and paid to all the contract laborers for whom a schedule of employment is available.
