i want to know about exact difference b/w skill & competency matrix as i am working on this in my organisation even though i had a long discussion with my boss i am unable to find where exactly they differ . It will be great if someone provide me help for the same.

I have a question regarding competency matrix, I am working in a manufacturing industry and the employees strength is 3,000+ and they are dispersed at various locations . How to carry out the competency matrix for the employees? And what sort of questions should be added as I have observed that the sample questionnaire attached on this site has the same related questions that we show in the PMS at our organization.Please suggest as it's urgent.
