The attrition rate is around 35% according to the latest report. Check the following sites, they may be useful:
- [The Hindu Business Line](http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/2005/03/10/stories/2005031001930600.htm)
- [Hewitt Associates](http://www.hewittassociates.com/Intl/AP/en-IN/AboutHewitt/Newsroom/PressReleases/2008/february-19-2008.aspx)
The attrition rate talks about the general attrition rate in the given industry for a given year and not on a monthly basis.

Hi Lavanya,
I just wanted to check how you go about calculating attrition per se. I have worked with multiple companies and have noticed the different ways they calculate attrition. Is there any standard formula that is used?
This is Santosh here. I am one of the Senior Team Leaders. I just happened to discover this site while browsing. It's really good to read. However, I want to have some control over attrition. Can anyone help me by emailing or teaching me how to calculate attrition in the system if any?
