Reapplying For PAN Card

Hi All,
One of my friend applied for PAN card through an agency in bangalore long back and still now he didnt recieve the card. When checked in the net it showed the acknowledgement number, but when called to Mumbai office they told that they didnt get his application.. now he is in a confusion whether to reapply.. is it possible to reapply when he hasnt recieved the card and please help me by telling the proceedure for reapplying.. When called to the agency nobody is answering the call..I would appreciate your early reply..

ya he can reapply since the mumbai ppl have confirmed that they haven't received the application form.

Dear friend,
Never reapply for the PAN card, unless ur having a written confirmation from the PAN authority that there is no pending application is laying with them, otherwise you might be face some problem in future. even you can re confirm the status on line at www.incometaxindia.gov.in.

Need not to reapply for PAN card as you have an acknowledgement no. with you. Pls go to the www.tin.nsdl.com and search for your acknowledgement no. If you had searched your online PAN NO , then send a mail to your regional income tax department with all references.

Hi,
He can certainly reapply but ask him to attach a letter alongwith the reapplication stating that this is done as he hasnt received his Pan card yet, Ask you friends company to take care of it as it would be easier for them to do it rather than your friend.
Also since your friend has already seen the acknoledgement he is supposed to refer that number too in the letter.
