Frustrated with a 2-Year Wait for PF Transfer? How to Check Status and Close Your Account

Hi,

I have requested a PF transfer from the Noida EPF office. It has been 2 years since I made the request, and I have not received any response yet. My previous employer has confirmed that they have sent the request to the PF office.

How can I know the status of my PF account, and is it possible to close this account at any time?

Do you know your PF account number? For a transfer, Form 13 is required. Please check with your PF office.

You can fill out Form 13 and send it to your previous employer. After they sign it, you can send it to the PF office.

Additionally, you can withdraw this money; it's better to do so. To initiate this process, you can fill out Form 10C and Form 19 and send them to your previous employer. Once you have completed all the formalities, you will receive your PF amount within one month.

To get your PF fund transferred, Form 13 (revised) is required. You do not have to go to your previous employer. Your present employer will fill it up for you after getting all the required details from you (like your previous PF number, previous company name, its address, date of leaving, etc.). Your present employer's as well as your signature are required on this form.

The previous employer is required only when your PF has been deducted in the current financial year by the previous company. Then you are supposed to submit Form 3(a) along with Form 13. This Form 3(a) is given by your previous employer. It gives the details of your current year deductions. Since you left the company around 2 years ago, you don't need Form 3(a).

So if you have not signed Form 13 till now, it means no action has been taken to get the fund transferred to your current PF account. It is not too late. Do it now also. The PF department will send you a letter to your present employer's address that the Form 13 has been received by them.
