Why Do We Say "Holi Hai" but Not "Diwali Hai"? Help Satisfy My Childhood Curiosity

dipeshkapoor
Why do people say "Holi Hai" when they know it's Holi? Why don't they say "Diwali Hai" or "Christmas Hai" or "Id Hai"... I sincerely request all of you to do some serious research on this and help me come out of this curiosity which has been with me since childhood.

This is a good doubt. Actually, it is to console people on whom we throw colors/water and telling them that, "in Diwali, we cannot throw burning crackers on you, colors/water is much safer than that!! So don't mind, thank god it's Holi" (sorry for the PJ - Bura na mano Holi Hai !!!).

Hi Dipesh,

"Why do people say Holi Hai when they know it's Holi? Why don't they say Diwali Hai or Christmas hai or Id Hai" 🙄 💡

Holi ke din Dil khil Jaatey hai Rangon se Rang Mil Jattey hai Dushman bhi Gale Mil Jatey hai Neela, hara, peela, gulaabi yeh sab to ek bahaana hai, Dost hume to tumse milne aur rangney aana hai Aaj tho rangoki rangoli hain bura na mano aaj holi hai

Jab sab kuch hai hai Toh Holi bhi Hai hai

Diwali ke Din Diwala Nikal Jatha hain Isliye Shubh Diwali ki kamna Karthey hain 😛

Christmas par sab Mast hojathey hain Isliye Merry Christmas kehtey hain 😉

ID ke din nikaltey hue Chand ko Mubarak baad detey hain 🙄

NO PUNS INTENDED.......JUST FOR RHYMING FUN :) 🤣

Maybe, because when you sprinkle color on someone unknown to you and if he is likely to get angry, just request him to cool down by saying "Holi Hai."
