Hi Sha..i'm also doing a project on the same topic. But i too hv the same doubt. how did u get the value of X in table 27 and also how did u calculated the engaged, disengaged etc., plz explain me....you can mail me to

Hi ,
I recevied a lot of enquiry regarding this so I'll explain in open forum to my knowledge. The value of X can be calculated using 5 point likert scale. Assign no/mark 1 to 5 from stongly disagree to strongly agree. for each questions assign the coresponding value and sum up the result is X(for each sample). Using karl pearson's standard deviation overall employee engaged can be calculated. I hope this will help.

hi sha
i also have the same doubt.i understood how u calculated ur X values.but could u explain to me how u calculated the no. of actively disengaged, not engaged and engaged values. was there any range for calculating it ?
with regards
rahul

Hi rahul,
After calculating Standard Deviation (σ ).
Add Actual mean (`x) and Standard devaition.
i.e i got Actual mean = 89.12
and SD= 15.04
(add) Am+SD= 89.12 + 15.04 = 104.16
(sub) Am-SD= 89.12 - 15.04 = 74.08
now if the value goes above 104.16 then consider the sample as engaged.
If the value goes below 74.08 then consider those sample as Actively disengaged and if the value of the sample is inbetween 104.16 and 74.08 then consider as not engaged. See very simple. I think u vow me some money:icon10::icon10::icon10:. I was just kidding. I hope this will help
