Confused About HRA and IT Exemption Under Section 10? Let's Figure It Out Together

Hi all,

I need help for HRA and IT exemption under section 10. I am getting HRA for Rs. 3,500/- per month and actually paying Rs. 2,200/- per month for house rent. My salary is Rs. 15,000/- per month (including basic salary, DA, and HRA). What would be my HRA exemption for IT? Kindly advise on this matter.

HRA Exemption 50% of (basic+DA) in case location Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi.

40% of (basic+DA) in case location other cities.
