Payroll Dilemma: Should Payslips Reflect Both Cheque and Cash Payments?

kartik1982
Hi,

I am working in a real estate/construction company as a payroll executive. We hired a person at 14,000/- per month (Basic 8,000/- as a cheque and the rest of 3,000/- (H.R.A) and 3,000/- (conveyance allowance) in cash. Please tell me what amount we should show on our payslip - the cheque amount only or both the cheque and cash amounts.

Hi,

The payslip contains the actual payments made on the left side and deductions made on the right side, so all the components should be shown whichever is paid on a monthly eligibility. The deductions like the PF, Professional tax, and Income tax should be shown on the right side. The amount that accumulates on the left side is the Gross monthly salary, and by deducting the gross salary with the deductions, the net payable (net pay) that is take-home salary should be mentioned below.

Regards,
Vivek
