I'm currently doing a project on Training & Organisational Development and would require help from you all.
As a part of my project, I need to benchmark the Training & Development activities and the best practices in various HR Areas across indistries.
The industries identified are:
a) Hospitality Sector
b) Service Sector
c) Tele-Communication
d) Travel

Hi Pallavi,
I can post the details only after 2-3 days... reason being, the details r stored in my computer which is at my home... n after reaching at 8.30 in the nite, i dnt hav the stamina to switch on my system... more so coz i had already sat in the front of system for 8 hours....

Methodology

I used Kirkpatrick model n implemented it till Level 3

Level1 - Reaction - With the help of feedback forms. Our feedback form consisted of a combination of both objective and subjective questions.

Level2 - Learning - With the help of quiz. Taken by the trainer on the last day of the training.

Level3 - Behaviour - We identified 4 measures which were impacted upon by the training program. Participants rated themselves on a 10-point scale with respect to these measures on the 1st day of the training. Similar response from their superiors was taken.

Participants and their superiors were again be asked to rate themselves 3 months after training. Then the difference was supposed to be analyzed.

There were some limitations of this which we had identified. These were:-

1. Level 4 was not possible to measure since the training effects were not properly seperable. Moreover since we were calculating ROI for the first time, so I me n my training manager thought its better to move in small steps.

2. This was my own limitation. Since I had to submit project by 15th of August of last year, so I was not able to get post-data of Level 3. Although I had shown the process in my project report but there was no post data.

In case u hav any problem in understanding the methodology, plz tell me... any feedback from ur side - whether positive or negative is welcome.

Dear All
I guess the benchmarking of any Training & Development activities is based on one elements. That is the implementation of the topics taken in that particular Training. ROI too have the similar attribute.
I hope Pallavi may look into this 2 issues mentioned.
