How Do You Handle Unplanned Leaves When Performance Isn't the Issue?

In my team, I have employees who take unplanned leaves and inform at odd hours with short notice. What actions can be taken to reduce this behavior if there are no performance issues?

Hi Appy,

Just make changes in your policy and limit the number of unplanned leaves. First of all, I need to know if you have any unplanned leave policy. Unplanned leave refers to leave taken due to emergencies, sickness, death, or any other critical situation where the employee is unable to submit a leave application. The employee must inform the company and the concerned head before 9:30 AM on that day for unplanned leave. If not informed, this leave will be considered as unpaid. If unplanned leave is not taken, it is encashable according to the encashment policy and cannot be carried forward to the next year.
