Missing Money at Work: How Should I Address This with My Employees?

sea36
Hi, I have some employees. My problem is money. At the end of the day when I check the money, sometimes some of the money is gone. When I ask them, they said they don't know. I look on the computer, but I can't figure it out. Do you think I should take this money from them? What can I do? What kind of letter can I use if I need?

Hi,

I don't have a problem with a credit card because I can check online, but my cash is gone. I really need help, and I don't know how I am going to handle it.:(

Thank you

Hi,

There are two people; one of them opened the register, and the other one closed it. I cannot prove who did it. Should I take from both of them?

Thanks

Warning alone will not be effective in cases involving theft or fraud (misappropriation of money/funds). These matters must be dealt with severely. Conduct an inquiry, establish the facts, and hold the responsible parties accountable. The temptation for monetary gain is a significant vulnerability. Choose to take action or face the consequences if you opt not to act. The decision is yours.

Streamline the process. Make only one person accountable for the cash - and if both are using the register, issue a warning that any money lost will be deducted from both their salaries as they are the ones handling the register - half and half. Both should be responsible and ensure that everything is in order.
